2013 Collegiate Nationals
El Centro, CA
The Miami Universtiy Waterski Team traveled to El Centro, California this fall to compete in the D1 National Collegiate Championship. This was the second time in the history of the team's existence to compete at this level, and the second year in a row.
The team was looking to improve upon their standings from last year of 10th place overall at the National Tournament. This year, the team did just that
and rose to 8th place overall and was awarded the National Spirit Award to add next to their Regional Spirit Award.
The team had numerous personal bests during the tournament, but the two that stand out the most are those of Drew Hathaway and Emily Van Treese. Drew joined the "century club" with a jump of 102 feet. Emily placed 10th overall in women's trick and had an amazing slalom run.
The team has been featured in The Miami Student, the campus newspaper, for their successful season. Click here to read the artcicle.
Congratulations to the entire team!
